Scholasticate Program

The Scholasticate Program at Mater Christi Centre was inaugurated in 2014 to provide a solid intellectual and pastoral foundation for young female religious in their formative years. It is a one-year intensive program that deepens theological understanding, spiritual growth, and missionary competence.

Through a combination of classroom instruction, spiritual formation, and pastoral field experience, the program equips participants to live out their religious consecration more meaningfully and to serve with greater confidence and effectiveness both within and outside Nigeria.

Our curriculum integrates theology, scripture, human development, leadership, and pastoral ministry, helping the sisters grow as holistic women of faith, wisdom, and service. The program also fosters inter-congregational collaboration, as it welcomes participants from other religious communities who seek deeper formation.

To date, Mater Christi has proudly graduated ten cohorts of Scholastics—dedicated women who now serve as vibrant witnesses of Christ’s love across different apostolates and nations.
